Sounds like you're one of the lucky few that has what is called a crossover... Of course not everyone will agree...mostly those without a crossover .

once upon a time 8) .....VW made a van  ...they continued to make this van for many years....

.....then they decided it look dated and needed a refresh after all you could bend glass now! :? .....so they produced a practice model......production started in 1968 and continued with minor modification till 1971......this splitscreen part laden van with its wrap around curved bay window is what the poorly informed :msn4: call an 'early bay'...then

......the true iconic baywindow was born in 1971......curved wrap around front bumpers and indicators (to match the windscreen).....then large square rear vents and lights (to match the brick like construction of the van)......the poorly informed jealous 'practice' owners call this a crossover...those of us who own one tend to humour them....we find it is best not to mock the aflicted  they are generally nice people...and these vans tend to be off white in colour and affectionately call a westy

.....but dear boys and girls the story does not end there  ....not all stories have a happy ending :( .....in 1972 a monster  was born....a BL spy from Birmingham broke into the VW factory and redesigned this iconic vans front end and the late bay was born :msn4: .....again these people do not deserve mocking (too much)

So endeth history for today.....class dismissed.

please ignore comments below from the poorly informed
