i bin gradually doin this bus up since feb last year with help from friends and family
feels good to finally get some colour on it
hopefully get it back together in the near future
basically i bought the bus october 2010from a 60 odd yr old surfer dude from london , had owned the bus for 30 yrs having imported it in 1980.
He really took reasonably good care of it little note books in the glove box with dates of every time he serviced, greased or adjusted anything.it was a high top combi and was pretty funky but was starting to need a bit of tlc.
i have every tax disc and mot plus every receipt for everything it has had even the receipt for the import tax lol
i lost alot of pics when my phone got stolen and the early on pics are on my brothers old computer so waiting for him to sort them out
it needed rear corners front bulge, complete bottom front in and out, all sills sliding door side, front jacking points front arch parts, doors bottoms ,cab floors ect u all know the usual stuff
bus was stripped to bare metal it was so cold one day we did it the paint stripper would not work ta lisa x
i then removed the fibreglass roof and hit disaster it was fubarred
so me and me bruv cut it all out and replaced it
i think my bro was determined it was gonna be black
then with the help of pete senneck at gta i prepped the rest of it
sometimes i got real fed up wiv it all it was a looooooonnnnnggggggg winter
it progressed slowly as i moved house in the middle as well and guess what .....
its a fixer upper too
made quite a few of the panels i needed myself pattern parts are a real bad fit i found
spent an age making the track covers any where near fit
really struggled with the colour really wanted savannah beige but it appears they were poppin up all over so i had my own colour made
also along the way i refreshened up the engine and all the other parts and gave bagpuss a hit with the lowering stick
the wheels are not to everyones taste but i like them
then it was on too paint the pics don't show the colour too well it is a real pastel sage sort of colour but with beige and grey hues the grey to harp back to its original light grey
it always looks beige or grey in photos but u can just see the green in some pics
then i have set about insulating
