Blades.

Just bought myself a second hand Milwaukee hackzall and a sawzall as well. Quite sure they were genuine and not stolen as the chap works with people I know and is lowering his tool quota as he retires and divorces all at the same time. But the dilemma here, is what blades do people use if they’re buying the blades themselves. Initially I’ll be using th3m to trim some trees and probably a bit if firewood mutilation too. Never had either before but I’ve got a couple of M12 and M18 batteries but any preferences?

Bought a Lidl reciprocating saw the other week and some of there blades , pack of 3 that go from very course to fine. Course says rough wood chop, next just wood and finer wood, metal but there was a finer one that came with the saw for metal. Have to see if its a standard fitting as will need some fine metal blade when I roof chop the new ride!

There’s quite a range of blades available it would seem and that’s in my extremely limited experience. I went to Toolstation who do most of them from various different brands all doing various different grades and variations. It would seem you can buy blades for a couple of quid each in packs of three or five up to ten packs of every variation going. The wood blades start off with extremely vicious then gradually calming down to blades that’ll cut wood but a few nails also. Then going from the other end of the scale with metal cutting blades of various TPIs until they’ll cut wood too. You can pay up to sixty odd quid for a single blade of any persuasion but that might last forever. So I’ve sold the Hackzall and kept the Sawzall for meself.
