Just looking at this :? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1636588" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Its marked as 69 but its got flares on rear wheel arches and I thought they were 71 onward. Are those wheels are earlier than 71.

Yer... wheels/Running gear look early. body looks late with the flared style rear arches.
No west side tags.. but has some decent Westy interior treasure...? Not sure... Clem!

Don't think so. early ones are fixed and are a pain to take out!!! Later ones are threaded so they can be removed.
No side markers which is odd considering its U.S.!?

Looks like a 68 interior to me but can't be sure!

Early carrying net and that sink gives me that impression. Mixmatch or westy imposter!? :lol:

Its still a nice looking bus don't get me wrong, side electric hookup looks the real deal.
But if you are spending large amounts of money you are right to do your home work first.

Has the peaked dash and long stalk mirror so definately 69 maybe 68 build.

I never noticed any difference in dashes before ! only euro and us types. It gets complicated I think any bus I fancy Ill post it on here just to be safe :lol:

I've seen it, I wanted a small rear light and vent bay. Never been keen on the large rear lights. Just my luck. I keep looking at it though :?

Looks like an 69 that's has work. OG arches could have been chopped and then replaced? Rear vent wing windows are wrong, sink unit is more 68 than 69 but it's not an exact science.
I'd want to see pics of all the work and how it was done I think

Agreed. Without seeing a lot more its not possible to figure out what's what.
