Afternoon chaps!

Some of you may be familiar with this old bird:

And much as I hate to brag, I popped a bit of paint on it and got it put back together last night.

Now it looks like this-

I still need to do the roof, rear hatch, some work on the underside (belly pans etc) and the interior, but I'm really happy with it, and couldn't not share.

Maybe see some of you guys at a show or two next year :)

Sir I have admired and followed your resto over on VZI since you first dragged that carcass home.... You are to be commended for your efforts and humor along the way

Now I am about to embark on my new bus project in the garden over the winter, I have no excuse not to get it sorted sharpish

MATE !!!!!!!!!

There is nothing I look forward to more, than getting you out a very very very cold bottle of Stella, around one of our campfires and getting bladdered together with the rest of the gang and listening to parts of the resto that may not be for public consumption    I`m so glad that you are on the finishing straight and liable to be out and about next year.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Superb news :p    :p

Cracking work - I have also followed your thread over on vzi
Here's to some Stella round the fire with Ozzie in the near future! :D

Well done ! I loved your thread on vzi it made me laugh ,and hats off to you for getting it done for about £6.70
Looking good now ;)

Thanks guys, very kind words :) Should be registered in a couple of weeks, bit more welding, fiddling about, blah blah blah, then MOT time, just in time for winter. effin' ideal!

Simon !!!! I`ve just had a thought    If you can get Old Ratty ready to rumble in the next couple of weeks, then there`s a very good chance we could make it up north for the annual Christmas fiasco with the Early Bay Chrimbo burger up at wherever it is in that smashing diner. Now that would be a nice Chrimbo pressy for you and Ratty and you could hang for an hour or so and hook up with some of the peeps on here. Now all we need to do is to get someone to organise it, someone that lives a bit closer than I do, someone that`s good on the phone and good with computers ???????????? Who could we ask ?????????? Possibly someone with a primered panel van, now who could fit that bill ?????????? HHHHhhhmmmm??????

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, GGGGGgggggeeeeeeooooorrrrgggeeeeee,, where are you ?

2 weeks? Are ya mad? heh. I'm aiming to get her done within 6...ish- I've still got to fit the belly pans, fit up a couple of patches in the welding, bleed the brakes, finish fitting the anti-roll bars, get it registered with the DVLA (filling out the V62 now, actually- but will defo need an inspection) then MOT time. It all flies by,doesn't it.
Let me know when/where, though, as I'm definitely still interested!

Cheers

For sure, there`s nothing organised at the moment and this little `event / happening` has become a very low key and informal thing that`s pretty much the end of the season and saying merry chrimble to some of the dudes on here and just a nice excuse for a bit of a run. I think there was about eight or ten last year that made the run up, and George actually made it under his own steam in his own van which I think was a rather momentus occasion that triggered a few events with him actually turning up in his bus and going home again in his bus, which must still seem like a novel way of doing it for George ;) So as it gets closer, we`ll get a feel for who wants to dust off the cob webs one more time and get out for a bit of meet up, maybe even hook up with one coming your way and give you a lift, so let us know where you are coming from and we`ll guage any interest. I`m coming up from Bristol and sometimes I`m on my own and sometimes I have a little crew and occasionally Mrs Ozziedog will grace us with an appearance even though she says "I`m not driving all that way" and " Your bloody crazy going all up there for a burger" and "It`s too cold" and "Why does the heating in this van only work in the summer" Etc Etc Etc. But I`m sure we can squeeze one or two more in anyhow. If Mrs Ozziedog does make an appearance then I`ll make sure there are earplugs available for any passengers ;) . So,,,,,,,,,,, who else fancies a run up ?? Graham has been known to be partial to a burger and Dave and Andy , Wig can come up with me if he wants too,, etc etc etc. I might just ask George to start a little Chrimble thread 8)

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Come on George :msn4:  :msn4:
