Have what looks like air conditioning connection pipes in the engine bay. Under the dash board is a blower unit with the other end of these pipes. Anyone ever come across this??

Van is a US import. 1972 Westy

You need to upload them to a photohosting site like Photobucket - once you've done that you copy the link below your pic and paste it into your post after you've clicked the button above...

I uploaded them on muchos. I got the code but it only displays the link in the post

you dont often come across those, missed a complete one last year on ebay....

do you have the exhanger underneath still?

I will have to have a look. I do know there is a square shaped box underneath with what looks like two metal vents on it. Im sure I saw the pipes leading into it. Does that sound like the thing??

thats it now you just nned the compressor and your ready to go....

Blimey.

Is the compressor a rare thing to find??

I debated ripping it all out but it looks kinda cool

I'd be very tempted to keep it and try to get it running - it's certainly a rare accessory to have working!

It might be worth showing it to an auto air-conditioning engineer to see what it needs (you may be able to fit a later pump, for example) - ultimately if it looks like it'll cost a fortune to re-commission then you might have to pass it on...
