I'm going to be buying a air shock kit for my front end but wasn't sure the best way to figure out the how to get the correct length shock needed . These will be going on the front .
I'm fitting a 3" narrowed adjustable beam with 3.5" dropped spindles .am I correct in thinking I adjust the beam to the height im after then measure the gap between the top and bottom shock mounts .I assume the Monroe shocks run with no air then when you want to raise the veichcle slightly you add the air pressure to the shocks ?

What you say makes sense yeah, but have you considered hydraulics instead? Much safer and no harder to install (infact you have more space with hydros) a load of mates in the watercolled world have had nothing but problems with airbags, whereas mates with hydros swear by them...

Hope this helps
Sam

Hi Sam , I've already bought my beam and was going down the Monroe air shock road not air bag ? I'm not sure hydro's will fit my beam plus cost will be high as guess ?

So am I correct in thinking that when I've fitted my adjustable narrowed beam with the the dropped spindles back on ,I set the ride height to what I want and then measure the gap between the top and bottom shock mounts to give me the length I need .Thus allowing me to ride at the desired height without air but also able to raise with air from the desired ride height
If needed ?

That's how i ride, so low when possible and pump it up for speedbumps and bad roads :D

It seems to be a funny topic really.
I run my Gabriel's with 150 PSI and I know others that run Monroe's with 120 psi.

When you drive with no air or like the min 20psi required I think is the ride ok and do you have any pics
Cheers Ja
