i might be in the market for a new charging unit, don't know whether i have bearings/brushes issue with the current dynamo.

if i do need a new one (what do i look for to tell if it is foooooked???) do you stick with a dynamo or change to an alternator??

if i change to an alternator what do i need extra??
pedastal?pulley wheel?regulator?fuel pump?backing plates??

everything else in the current charging system is new, well 1500 miles old except the dynamo was secodhand.
can you get the dynamos refurbed by a local vehicle electrician or do you need to buy a new one? :|

regards.

defiantly an alternator a new pedestal, possible fuel pump sometimes you can use the old one, but I replaced mine and I also needed a carb spacer as carb sat too low and hit the alternator i think this would be all you need let me know if want some pics?

nearly forgot if you change your fuel pump you will need a different push rod for the fuel pump :p
