How much of a difference does one make? I don't have one and I'm thinking it may help improve some of the tyre rubbing when cornering?

As your lowered you can't fit one in the normal position, I believe you have flip it and fit on top of the trailing arms instead of on top.

It would make a difference, I'm not sure enough of a difference to be worth the effort though.

:)

i have heavy duty front and rear on my bus...however, i have never driven it without it so have no comparison.

Richard Ratwell has written an article about antiroll (or sway bars):

interesting read

I recon its well worth fitting, you will get less roll in the corners and thus will improve the rubbing issue.....im gonna try and fit one to my Red9 Wishbone settup.....

Sounds like I might have to give it a go even if it is a pig of a job then :) has anyone flipped one and fitted it? Any pics?

Still jealous of that

I've got a HD one to go on my lowered van too. But I want to get the adjustable dampers and tracking set right before I fit it to allow me to make an accurate assesment of its effectiveness.

Let us know how you get on. 8)

You mean it still handles like a rudderless boat, I'm surprised at that......

Anybody actually flipped their front anti-roll bar, or is it another "my mate's done that...."
Would be interested just to stop mine wearing away on the tarmac.

LOL na, just the roll through the corners at speed would be controlled with an ARB fitted, the Westy loaded up is a heavy beast after all.

ive mounted them on top of the arms rather than below quite a few times, dont know if i have any pics but ill have a look. having an antiroll bar on your bus makes a lot of difference in the way they handle, VW didnt fit anything unless it served a purpose!

im also toying with the idea of an anti roll bar on my red 9 wishbone kit, like CB said it would help in the corners for sure.
looking into having a new custom set of A arms made for more steering lock and so it has proper mounts for an ARB
;)

Why does the front ARB have to be flipped/relocated etc on a lowerd Bus?
Mines still fitted and mines lowerd about 2 1/2 inches using adjusters.
Am i missing something?

Rich

Yes, mine's down about 5 1/2 - 6 inches on the front and the ARB scrapes over cat's eyes and hits the road over bumps and then the tyres clean the seat tubs.........

If you could post some pics I'd be grateful, especially if it's before Thursday. ;)

Is the Antiroll bar relocated to stop it hitting the ground or is there another reason?

Rich

You should try hitting the beam with 4 bridesmaids in the van  made me laugh and shut them all up for a bit :)

Getting the beam beached on the way into Dubs at the Castle was enough for me. I've had nothing but grief about raising the bus up since then.
Need to find a solution or I'll be breathing thinner air soon.....

thats funny reading all those coments  i thought it was just me with these probs mines down about 5.5 " and in france one of the roads had a lot of camber and the wife had to join the kids in the back lol i would also like to see how to do it rich :D
