Hi all, we're planning on a week away on the week leading up to alive and dubbin. We're thinking maybe a week at Great Yarmouth and then stop and camp at Jimmy's farm on the way home (Kent) can anyone recommend good campsites near Great Yarmouth? Or even recommend anywhere in that general direction , not necessarily Yarmouth.

Me the wife and a 14 month old girl, so no rave spots please!

Cheers, Brett.

broad farm in my villiage is ok got a great 70s bar etc, clippsby hall, again is ok, bar etc. Reedham ferry is cool.
the first two are closer to yarmouth, all have a pub. the reedham one has a chain driven ferry accross the broads but its a bit further out that the other two.
cheers john

ps there a few in burgh castle but the they are haven type places , still good though for kids etc.

john

Yep - Reedham ferry isnt too far away, one of our favs, just booked it for easter 8)

depends if you want quiet or a bit more commercialized, the wild duck at belton near great yarmouth is good, pool, club house and kids entertainment etc, cheaper out of season and cheaper if you phone them direct rather than booking through the web site. I have the number if you wanted it

I like the look of this one, would you recommend it considering I'll have my 14 month old daughter?

Does it have indoor pool? Could you pm the direct number please?

Have you had a look at Kelling Heath? Its about 30 miles further up the coast and perfect for taking a baby.

Another place in the area i would recommend is the camping and caravan site in west runton.

:)

Stayed here last year, when I took the grand kids, it's a proper full on holiday park, but great. it has a sister site that you can use as well, it good but very commercial but the motor home and caravan parking is right next to burgh castle and the broads so nice walks to be had, reasonable pricing as well,

Has anyone tried Vauxhall holiday park?
aviod vauxhall at all costs it doesnt attract people that would appreciate your way of life.

if you want a pool etc then wild duck is ok.

as said before above kelling heath is ok if not a bit pricey.

if you want fires/ showers and nothing else then theres breck farm, both of these are next to each other. 3o miles up the coast.

theres a haven holiday place on the horth side of yarmouth too. never been, but i know it has a fun style pool and shops, bars etc.

hope that helps. if you after chill out though id go to reedham. but apart from the pub and being on the broads theres nowt else there, apart from the cool chain driven ferry.

As jth says its a nice chill site, the pubs on your door step but not much else. Theres a nice walk along the river into reedham itself where there is a great old school chippy and another nice pub. There is also a new toilet/ shower block on site and good fishing lake across the field behind ;)

oh and if ya get really bored you can make a 5 mile trek and help clear out my garage!!!( sorry i meant come down the pub and get hammered)

Well after all the searching, the wife booked up vauxhall holiday park, I then noticed the 'avoid vauxhall at all cost' so now I'm worried! il just see how it goes, maybe you can say ' I told you so' after we leave!? :D

Arrived at Vauxhall holiday park today, not had chance to explore yet but my first impressions are *****! We're set up fairly close to a main road which sounds like the Nurbergring, I've bust about 20 tent pegs as the ground is like granite! A ******* great sea gull has **** on my roof and to top it all off my daughter hasn't stopped screaming all day!! I've had enough already! Best sleep on it and see what tommorrow brings. :|

Why didn't I listen to my fellow earlybayers???

i`d cut my losses friend and head to kelling heath as john says its more money but they have loads of stuff going on its big clean and quiet....two pools indoor and out, not far from sheringham , cromer etc
