Hello all,

Looking to purchase my first bay window for use this summer, I have looked and looked and have found a bus forsale I like the look of.

I have been given some details from the current owner who has been restoring it, it is 90% done but the current owner has no history on the van other that what he has done to reassemble.

Hopefully someone here knows the van ?

Reg is THK 587K

It's a 1972 crossover dormobile bay.

Thanks all.

Nobody have anything on this bus? Was hoping for a previous owner

It's currently sat in primer so pictures won't help, it looks like any crossover dot mobile in grey primer!

Thanks for looking in :)

Sorry, cant help im afraid but it may help jog a memory if you say what part of the country its in.
Pix if you buy it though :)

its in suffolk at the moment, not sure how long the guy has had it though so not sure where it came from before ;)

definately pics if its purchased though!

it needs paint but i think im going to roll it or spray it diy with rustoleum due to funding!

I know this might not help but be really carefully buying a bus in primer as it hides everything an I mean everything it could be full of filler an poor welding if you don't know what your buying best to get someone who does to have a look with you

hi there, sure you will but before you buy please check all 3 plates tie up, I bought my first bus a few weeks ago and I learned a lot. see the post 72 bay with oval lights there is a wealth of knowledge about checking out vans with little paperwork.

Thanks for the advise guys.

Just looked through your thread with the vin numbers.

That sucks Big time but hopefully you get to the bottom of it all.

I'll have to find out how to properly identify a 72 and where all the vin numbers etc are.

The bus was in primer when he bought it, no interior fitted so I should be able to see form the inside what the sides and long panel is like, the only interior fitted is the front seats and what not to make It drivable for mot.

I could do with some help when going to look at it. I may post for someone in the Suffolk/Lowestoft area to come up with me if they know what to be looking for.
I don't mind paying for services for some good advice.

I think the guy has run out of money, struggling for cash that's why it's up forsale. But I know to be weary.

It's an 8 hour drive for me tho!!

Guess you have seen the thread on volkzone about a project dormobile in Suffolk from 2007, long time ago but may have been a long project for someone?

I've just had a look through volkszone but can't find it?
Is it the same van?
Do you have a link?

I don't think it's that one. The one forsale has a 1600 engine, that one had 2 engines included, a 1700 and an 1800.

I've posted on volkszone, and I guess I'll post on the late bay as well as its a crossover.

Thanks for your help so far!
