I'm trying to put the bunks back in my Dormobile (one was present when I bought it, but the other was not fitted).

The 2 bunks I have are slightly different from each other (which sounds sensible). Which side do they go, and which way up ? Also, I can't see how the bunk by the door fits without obstructing the roof tie-downs.

Any comments, pics or pointers appreciated.

Thanks

there are some 67 dormobile brochures there a little hard to make out but you can get them on thesamba. dunno if there any use though.

Chubbubb2005,

Thanks for the offer. I'm just struggling to install the bunks, which were taken out by the previous owner. It should be obvious, but doesn't seem to work - I wonder if the fabric has shrunk or something.

If you could take some photos of the end of a bunk when it's in the sleeping position that might help me to see where I'm going wrong.

Also, how much pressure do you have to put on them to get them into place ?

Thank you.[/quote]

They are a bit stiff but as you can see the components differ from one side to the other as does the assembly.
So good luck.

If you need any more help just ask.

That's great. Just one question - do the bunks normally open right out to the brackets (which I assume are stops for the bunks) or are these just failsafes ?

Thanks.

Yes they go right to the brackets I had lifted the bunk slightly so as to be able to see the mechanism.

if you need new material for your dormobile bunks, go to argos and buy the real cheap camp beds, i think they are green material. they are about £10 each, chuck the metal bits in the bin (recycle bin of corse) strip a few bits of your frames, thread on the new material and bobs your uncle.... made to mesure bunks :) they will be a little bit slack on one end but thats cos they are tapered, my mate has done this on his dormobile and thats what im gona do with mine.

while writing this i found you a link

this is the bugger
