How much would that end up costing you think?

Would it be cheaper to demolish and build from scratch (Potten House)? :shadey:

Wow  ,
Looks like the owners have already had some plans drawn up. Might be worth contacting the estate agents and asking a few questions, they might be able to point you in the right direction or even get you a copy of the plans that you could then approach an architech / builder and get a rough price.

Depends on lots of factors, you will have to convert it as per spec on the drawings or re apply for planning if you change it.
I would not demolish this unless i wanted to build two propertys and sell on and it would not suprise me if it had no foundations either so could need underpinning as well, i would say 100k + or minus 30K but that just going off a couple of pics, as said you really need at least two building quotes and a good architect is a must!.

Most houses over in France have no foundations including mine and it has been stood since 1870 ,underpinning must be the new buzz word... :?

How much sun does it get ,that is number one on my list.... 8)

Cost to renovate will vary very much according to specification and how much work you do yourselves but £80-£120ft would be a rough estimate. The planning may specifically require the barn to be converted rather than demolished. You'd need to make another planning application to change this which in any event would be unlikey

Cheers guys, useful information there. I was kind of hoping someone would say 50k but thats me being neive.

Back to searching.. Think i am being selfish and just want something big enough to accommodate my bus too. I like the quiet location of that place though..

We had a look at this today which is in the same village:

Figured it was pretty good value..

is it listed (grade 1 or 2) if so his will effect the conversion cost, but as others have said and from my experience you are looking at circa £1000/m2
