Hi everyone,

With a view to doing some of the work on my '71 myself, I went along to Waltham Forest College last week to find out more about their Vehicle Restoration evening class. It's a ten week course, which although won't turn anyone into a master craftsmen, it will cover the basics of MIG welding, panel beating, lead filling and paint spraying. It's held in a proper workshop, and they provide all the equipment and safety wear. They even give you a wing, and over the course you'll knock out a dent, cut out a section to let a new piece in, then prep the panel and paint it.

The course is due to start in the first week of November, and costs £210.

I think there are one or two places left, so I wondered if anyone else on here might be up for it?

PM me if you're interested!

Sounds good, but is the wrong side of town for me (S or SW would be good for me).

On this sort of subject does anyone know of a basic course on mechanics? I am severely mechanically challenged and would benefit from something like this.

Somewhere in Kent would help too!

Hey Baldrick why not speak to SlammedKustom maybe its something he'd consider branching into to top up his revenue hell if nothing else he might just show you the basics for your tea making abilities

I'm already talking to him about doing some work on my bus when I get it...poor guy might get fed up with me! :D

I was about to suggest the same as Araon.

Do ask Chris - I can guarantee that he'll be positive in his reply. He's shown me loads when working on my van. Top bloke and excellent at showing those who cannot yet do what he does the ropes.

I am aiming to trust him with cutting my roof off and putting a tintop on!
