We were going but for one reason or another decided to bail last weekend.
What was the problem?
Was a good show last year.

We went and felt the same aswell.

Just seems a bit dis-organised, and not a lot there. The weather didn't help of course as it was appalling, but for instance, the 3 portaloos in our camping field got blown over, they were eventually put back up but no one thought to clean them so they were totally unusable as there was indescribable 'stuff' all over them!

The drifting etc was fun to watch but again, no racing, which on a race circuit I was kinda hoping to see!

Also, compared to other shows there were very few trade stalls.

Silent disco was ok. But a bit hit and miss.

Just felt like the adverts/website promised something but the show didn't really deliver we still had a great weekend away with friends but like you say £40 and 300 mile round trip felt like a lot when we could've just gone nearer home!

I was going but weather put me off.
Although stripping wall paper at home wasn't much fun :(
Shame as it looked like a good show.

I got tickets from groupon as they were cheap, was really looking forward to going but the weather this morning was ***** so we gave it a miss, last year was ok but we were still charged £16 each when we turned up around 1pm on the Sunday!

Glad I stayed home and cleaned the fish tank out instead then.

Glad it's not just me, I was only an hour away, but if I'd travelled 300 miles then I'd have been spitting feathers. roll on Camper Jam

Studeyd1975 felt bad whinging all weekend so just sucked it up and drank Pimms! Chinese is on it's way and I had a defrosting shower earlier, all good!

Were doing Alive & dubbin in a few weeks, can highly recommend that show, then as you say roll on CamperJam, not been for a few years looking forward to it!

Is there EarlyBay club camping?

Yep we did the same and got pretty wasted, highlight of the weekend was my mate bringing his 2 year olds beach shelter and using it as a tent, thinking it would "be o.k" sadly it wasn't.

Not sure about early bay camping at CJ maybe someone can confirm?

to end on something positive about Apex

Excellent coffee from the guys in the brown splitscreen and excellent pulled pork from the guys with the train smoker.

Totally agree on the coffee 'Monkshoods Coffee' won't forget that name in a hurry, lush Mocha had on Saturday morning!

Also disappointed and certainly not worth £50 plus (from memory)

Turned up on Friday and had to wait over 15minutes until the organisers sorted out where we could go and then only general or club camping with no seperate family area laid out. Why not use the bottom field near to the kids zone like the first year?

It seems the circuit were precious about how much of the top field could be opened up at a time even though the first year at least you could go where you liked. They must have had a good idea how many were expected. Got woken up at 2am by 2 idiots next door singing and playing music with no sign of any security. Mrs with migrane almost in tears and wanting to go home.

Racing (what racing) more like a series of processions

Only went because me and the nipper enjoyed the first year and it's one of a few circuits where you can bring the dog.

Won't be rushing back sadly.

PS. Blimey that wind was relentless and got to feel sorry for the people in the green bay with what looked like a brand new JK awning that fell apart all too easily. They were gone by Saturday lunchtime.

I went and loved it, most of the issues are down to the circuit being awkward and the weather meant most traders packed up or didn't bother at all.

It's easy to rip on something but the weather being as bad as it was i thought it was an ace event with a really freindly feel!

I do sympathise with a lot of the comments here and its a fine balancing act getting an event right with the right mix of trade/family activities etc etc.

I actually went down to help Simon and his team in return for letting me publicise our own event, the hassle with the camping area was purely down to the venue, they have the World Rally Cross event in 3 weeks times and having looked at the weather were trying to protect the grass for that event, they dictated to Simon were he could put camping and how much space was available and made that decision at approx 5.45 on Friday only 15 minutes before the gates opened. We were in the top camping field trying to direct campers in an orderly format but most just ignored the instructions and did their own thing which didnt help the situation.

I've never experienced wind like that at an event before and it was an interesting 200 mile drive home :)

1st time at the show and really enjoyed it..!! (apart from the HIGH winds (and rain Saturday mornin')..) :D :D

Long drive down from Lem spa but all part of the fun. The racin' was good, esp the 8 club beetles on Sunday..!! 8)

See some pic's on my thread of cars in SUNSHINE Well most of the time :D

Weather can kill any show but there ain't much organisers can do about that..!!
