Guys, are the battery trays supposed to be welded to the shell all the way around? There are gaps on my bus in the corners - the trays are solid and I have just sealed to stop water getting in but are they supposed to be welded all the way around or just tacked in places? :whip:

They were spot welded from the factory ... when I replaced mine thats what I did again. Its not structural so as long as its strong it'll be fine.

mine are, (or, they look like they are underneath several layers of waxoil) but there needs to be a drain hole somewhere.

I think you'll find the gaps are to let water out, as the air vents for the engine are above, when it rains water runs down inside the rear quarters.

ARRRR and I just sealed them...... :sad0049:

Oh well, there is still a hole in each battery tray in the middle and one where the two 'seams' of the quarter and main sheet metal join together.. :party0021:

I'm sure that'll be fine, but someone with more experience and knowledge than me will probably be along soon to clarify ..... :D
