This part is available, its the same as beetle. The side parts are also available repro for a bus, but they're not curved to the roof profile like the original parts, so not ideal.
Surprisingly, Ive just searched, and no one lists this part as type 2, so maybe I'm wrong. I may have a spare, I'll have a look for you. There's loads of info on the SAMBA about these roofs, but if you have one, you've probably found all that..
