Best place to buy a new 1641 engine from?

Hi guys and girls...

A mate of mine is looking to buy a new 1641 engine to fit in his bus. He doesn't want anything racy or fancy, just reliability and the ability to keep up with modern traffic. He will probably fit twin 34's.

He would prefer to buy 'off the shelf' as opposed to having one built specially.

So can anyone recommend a good engine supplier? He would prefer to have a brand new block rather than a reconditioned unit btw....

VW Heritage? The Engine Shop? Just Kampers even.....?

1641 'Street Power' by Remtec is an excellent off the shelf engine. The Engine Shop and VW Heritage amongst others stock them. I think they're about £949? Worth the money IMHO. :wink:
