All 3 for me in one go, and nice French choc cake covered in a selection of walkers crisp, perfectly aligned around the edge with choc fingers and maulted milks in the middle sandwiched between butter icing :D

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Looks like shaggy, j&m and sk could start their own thread :D

A bit harsh dude - I've only posted twice and they were both snack related!!

For the record...
1st - Biscuits (plain not chocolate)
2nd - Crisps (Quavers, Hula hoops)
3rd - Cake (if it's Joy's home-made coffee & walnut it gets promoted to 1st!)

;)

I will always to my best to hijack a thread :D hehehehe

Jaffa Cakes are they not a hybrid cake/biscuit :D

We need another heading like advanced confectionery :D

*cough* Brown nose *cough*

Joy doesn't read this so I don't think so!

Well... sometimes... just to keep an eye on you  She'll kick your ass when she meets you!

;)

P.S. - Next time Joy makes a cake everyone can have a slice - except SK!

;)

Shaggy - Jaffas are designated cakes hence there was the debate on VAT on them some time back when they came out as it put them into the luxury end of the snack market....

Its kinda given away a tad in their name

Jaffa cakes are officially cakes - there was quite a famous case where McVities were taken to court by the tax man because they hadn't paid VAT - they proved it was a cake by asserting that cakes/biscuits are defined thus... cakes start soft when fresh but go hard when stale, whereas biscuits are hard when fresh but go soft when stale...
Jaffa cakes are soft, then go hard and so are a cake!!!

;)

names mean nothing, i cant think of any examples, also I don't care about there VAT classification....hehehehe I am right and everyone else is wrong

Are cakes luxury, I thought they where a standard food group, 5 fruit/veg a day and one slice of cake :D

So why do cakes go hard and biscuits go soft, I am partial to a soft biscuit :D

Cakes contain more water than air at normal humidity - so go hard as it evaporates... Biscuits contain less water than the air around them so absorb it and go soft...

;)

Now that is a cool fact, thank you very much for that :D

So does fact mean after time a cake becomes and biscuit and a biscuit becomes cake, so if i by lots of cakes wait for them to turn in to biscuits I can get my money back from the VAT man, or if jaffa say on there packaging "to eat open packet leave out for a few days until hard" they can get there money back as they are then selling them as biscuits not cakes :!: :?:
