Hi there

Anyone tried steel braided brake hoses on their drum brake busses ? My brother just fitted some to
a Mini and said it turned the pedal to rock i.e. more pressure to shoes/pads less pressure
used to inflate the balloons on all four corners ?

He also reckoned that since the hoses were relatively long on teh bay the gain could be pretty
significant.

Just wondered if anyone else had tried this type of brake upgrade.

Cheers

James

I have, but I fitted disks at the same time, I think if you are keeping your bus for a long time its a good upgrade, get in touch with FutBus, he sells them, not that hard to fit either.

Yes we sell braided hoses in full stainless including the ferrel ends. £54.95 for a full set plus p&p.

Will these fit a '71? I know the holes on the calipers are smaller and I think a one year only difference, but is there any reason why the braided hose wouldn't fit?

Thanks

We actually make the hoses to suit, rather than buying them in, so we can make to a pattern. If they are standard hoses then we can supply no problem.

Hi,
I put a set of Goodridge braided stainless hoses on my 71 Crossover, running discs on the front with no servo, its made the brake pedal solid, no more spongy pedal. Not sure whether it was the hoses, or changing all of the fluid that looked like it had been in the system for some time!! Well worth the money :D

Cheers

Thanks for the replies - might be a nice interim measure before the disc upgrade I've been banging on about for what seems like forever..

.. I've got most of the bits now just need to buy the time from Mrs Stan.

MOT today and the drums got me through again so... who knows when that might be.

Cheers

Lots of work needs doing on the site, but the postage for hoses is £2.95

More stuff were working on to be added to the site, but a friend helps me out with this and he is currently in the process of moving so does not have much time, and all I seem to do is crash the site.
