Just took the camper out for a quick run and when i put my foot on the brake pedal is sticks on, and i wont lift even under revs. I have had a new servo last year and a full brake rebuild a few years back (before you could get the servo) so there is nothing 36 years old and all that - it is just sticking due to lack of use and can be adjusted / lubricated or is it a bit more serious?

What year do you have - i.e. is it a disk brake van?

Its not really usual to happen just cause of lack of use, unless your talking years, but even then i'd be surprised if it had all gone bad. Its more likely one specific problem that needs to be traced.

Have you jacked each wheel up to see if one or all are stuck, if its all the wheels then it has to be the master cylinder, in which case you should bleed the brakes to take the pressure off and then remove it and investigate.

If its just one wheel then it could be the flexible hose collapsed internally or the wheel cylinder/caliper seized.

This is how i'd go about looking into the problem, hopefully others here can give you additional thoughts and advice.

Let us know what you found

Gareth
