Busfest thoughts

Had a great time myself,didn't camp this year though.Met up with mates and enjoyed the weekend.Do agree with people's complaints though,personally for me £15 entry is a lot of money,soon adds up if there is a family.Too much tat of sale in some of the halls.Instead of filling all the halls with tat from a Sunday Market,why not have some better vehicle displays to fire peoples imaginations.Camper Interior displays,Performance Engines,etc.

Weve been attending every year for as long as I can remember, always camped arriving early Friday set up and out looking, that's when most of the autojumble which im interested in will be bought
I agree with the day visitors that £15 is excessive so for me its all about the camping.
I also agree the trade for aircooled is less and less each year with more T5 etc but if you were to wander around the camping fields for a nose as we do then I think you will find aircooled still dominates.
So its a camping weekend with a massive turn out of buses which attracts me not really the trade or lack of.

One thing which did ruin it for me and my family this year was the black buggy with wanna be soldiers (traders) thinking it was cool to tear up the family camping field with feeble attempts at doughnuts. I did mention at the time to the security with a lack off control which the driver clearly had or a jammed throttle, these idiots could have easily gone through sombodys awning !! it was more like santa pod not family camping at what I regard as a classic show.
So did the security deal with them ?? clearly not as later they were churning up the orchard behind us MORONS !!

No. of bays: I agree that the T5 brigade are beginning to dominate, though if the aircoolers stay away for that reason then it becomes self defeating. Yes, there were bays around the camping fields, but it takes little effort to join the line up / display where we can make our presence felt.

Dealers: I also heard (days after the show, on a campsite in deepest Wales) that Hayburner and others had problems with the officials. The lack of much auto jumble was very apparent and there were a lot of empty plots, so something is seriously wrong. Ironically I did buy a non-stick frying pan.

Entertainment: I didn't 'get' the zombie thing at all, it was flimsy at best, and thought that Dr and Medics were just a poor covers band and played for maybe an hour tops, which is also poor. So I hit the other areas (the Sheepshed Stage was pretty good) but quit the comedy room where the Daily Mail readers on the front row were well catered for with racist and sometimes blue 'jokes'. This was the 'child safe / zombie free' zone don't forget.

Facilities overall: some of the best for a show of this size. Pity the staff don't seem to enjoy it.

Likely to attend next year: probably not.
