CB Performance Maxi Sump Question

What do you guys think of these after market filters ?.

Anybody running one ?

Thought it may increase cooling and provide better filtration than the standard mesh.

My engine is a bog standard 1600 twin port and the van is full height (the new low ) so clearance should not be a problem.

I read somewhere that it's not good practice to filter the oil on the suction side of the pump in case of blockages but this does seem to have a bypass feature.

I asked the smae question on VolksZone a few months ago and got a few mixed responses. In essence it looks good, but some more techie types said they were a bad idea, as if they get blocked they can cause problems. I'll see if i can find the thread.

That guy 'Elmo Putney' has put me right off the idea.

Shame as it looked a nice bit of kit and cheaper than the full flow route.
