Good afternoon all
hope someone can advise, So first so sorry for the stupid questions!! Please see the pic below (picture borrowed from someone else so sorry and thank you).
Basically I have been told that i need to replace the pipes and the canister, marked in the pic as they are completely blocked and no good. I have a T2 Bay 1971/72 1700cc type 4 engine. My problem is im not 100% sure what the name is for these parts and i have been given conflicting names for the parts, so please if you can help it would be very much appreciated.

It's not quite the same as mine but very similar, I cant see how they can get blocked though? They 'filter' fuel fumes from what I can gather, I just removed mine and run a new hose straight to the air filter, I did search around for ages but couldn't find anywhere that does them.

My engine bay smelt really badly of fumes whilst the canister was present, once removed the smell disappeared.

they were used in america to reduce emmisions, you can junk it and pipe straight from engine to air filter i did exactly that, more room and looks tidier too.

So where on the air filter does a pipe attach?
