Converting Rear US Lights to UK Lights - Best Lenses / Light

Hi All,
Fairly new to here and would appreciate some advice. I have just bought a US bus which has been fitted with UK spec rear lamp units but the chrome has rusted quite badly. I was lucky enough to get all of the original parts with the bus including the original US lamp units so I still have these as spares (althoguh I know they are not legal here).

I was who anyone would recommend for good quality UK spec rear lamp units or whether anyone does replacement red and amber lenses for the OG US units - the current UK units I have are slightly different in size so the lenses are not transferable.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ah now theres a few routes around this...

you have the og swf surround it will fit with a very slight fettling of the uk lens

you can fit the og red lens and 1. colour the indicator lamp green this will flash amber 2. replace the lamp for led lamps which will flash amber or 3. fit the indicators elsewhere commonly in the reverse lights.

rechrome the surrounds making sure there tripple plated

I just used the us spec lights as stop/tail lights and replaced the reversing lights with orange bulbs and used them as indicators.

Looks stock too.

Could get Hella repro lenses from Status-vw, the chromes in the plastic so no rust.

How are you getting on with the old girl, say hi to her for me.

Just fit the red lenses and get some of these

Thanks for all the tips guys. I will try the green lights first and see what they look like - and post some pics. If not it will be off to Status VW me thinks.
