Hi,

What is the correct way to fit the Metal Trim into window rubbers, in that does one edge of the metal trim sit inside the rubber and the other side "over"/outside the rubber?

The metal trim has semi-circular profile.

I've drawn a cross section of the rubber and trim below in an attempt to illustrate what I mean.

So in 1, the metal trim sits inside the rubber, but has one side hanging over onto the outside of the rubber.
In 2 the whole of the trim is inside the rubber, with both the top and bottom parts of the rubber sitting over the trim.

Cheers!

I cant see your pic at work, and havent fitted any myself so am not much use, but i know the correct tool helps:

Pic No.1 is correct.
Put the seal onto the glass first then and the trim on afterwards I have never had to use a tool of any sorts on the Metal deluxe trim.

Thanks for advice people.

D@vey - I'm going to fit it like Picture 1.

I have tried fitting it like Picture 2 (above) but it just looks wrong as the rubber sits over the trim...

This photo isn't great, but you can make out the rubber on either side of the trim.

Hi fit it like pic one , I've just done my mates it was tough at times there was me and him on out side holding corners in pushing and pressing while his mrs was pulling the the cord on the inside ... If the trim pops out don't try and force it take the window back out refit trim and try again ..,and have plenty of brews and patience ;)

Hi
Are you sure you've got the right window rubber for the metal trim?
I could be wrong but it looks like you have the rubber for plastic trim..Dave

Really?

I order both the metal trim and rubber seals at the sametime from the same company.

Is there anyway I can tell if the rubber seal I have is specifically for the Metal trim?

Hi
Looks like both edges of your rubber are rounded where the metal trim fits.
This is what got me to doubt if the seal was right for the trim.
Could be wrong though,if it looks like this then its ok......the backs cut off the seal in the pics...Dave
