My van is away being brought back from the dead, as it was too far gone for me to fix, so I'm now restoring an old MGB.

The parts I'm buying for it are a fraction of the price of camper ones yet, to me, appear to be of at least the same quality.

As VW built a lot more vans than MG built B's I'd have thought that it would be the other way around.

Anyway - end of rant - I'm just gobsmacked as to the amount I'm having to spend on parts for the van and some of the panels seem to be made out of Play-Doh!

With you on parts - coming from triumph gt6 where I could pick up a pair of carbs for £20! In fact my full bare metal resto of a mkII gt6 sold for just over £4k :(

Supply and demand - same with things like antiques, art etc - not so bad - you could be restoring an old Porsche - guy I knew spent more on a gearbox for his than I bought an entire donor spitfire for :)
