Hi
I had purchased the easy glide aluminium rails for my bus!!
Was going really well till I came to the cab area!!!
Grrrr!!
How on earth are u supposed to bend the metal trim on a curve at 2 different angles??
Is there a product which is already bent??
Cheers in advance

My advise is to ignore the bends, just go for where you you want it to end up, and forget how it has to bend to get there!! I started at the sides, do the first foot, then just move forward another 18inch or so to a point where the bend is doable.....

I ended up buying twice, as got annoyed and put unrecoverable bend into first attempt!!!.... take it easy and it does bend, honest!!.... just look ahead of where you are and it kind if just gets there.... you can tighten up the bends afterwards....

Sorry, not much help, other than it does bend, and it does go there....

Hiya it can be done did it on mine have a look at page 7 of mine 1970 corvair microbus, I cut the flat section off where u need to bend it and put some aluminium in it to keep the profile when bending it, the guides stick a little when pulling the curtais around but its use able. Have since redone headliner and lowered the back rails to just above the windows as was pulling on headliner to much, hope this helps
Cheers pete

I spoke to a guy at dubfreeze who sells silentgliss railing ,don't know if it's the same as yours - we were talking splits but he provided a template of 3mm plywood cut to the shape of the bend - slot this into the rail and bend to shape, stops the gap closing up.

Worth a try
:)

create the bend outside the bus, put a towel against the cab and bend the track. That will get you the shape and then just tighten it up in the van.

But being honest I am not bothering using the front curtains in mine and I am just going for a screen cover :)

Our front curtain is on poppers - I didn't have the patience to bend the rail! 8)

Many thanks people lots of great ideas!!
Probably end up buying 3 more kits trying!!!

i just got a wrap around screen cover, job done. And it keeps a bit of the heat in.
