what is the bit with the red dot :?:
where the blue dot is it seems to be leaking.

blue dot is an blanking bung in carb body .... mine fell out i loctited it back in and its been fine for about 2 years now :D

red dot not 100 % but looks like its an extra ball joint fitted for manual use of throttle .... just take it off its getting in the way .....maybe someone else has more of an idea on its use

Not sure on the red dot.

I'd be more worried about the position of your fuel filter. It has been argued in the past that the best place for the filter is before the pump, not after. I've got mine above my gearbox to avoid it being anywhere near a source of heat.

good point well spotted

where the blue dot is indeed just a plugged hole .. and mine leaks there too for some strange reason .. not lots .. just enough to look a little wet and taste of fuel not icing .. i was gonna have a closer look when i change the spindle bushes over the winter ..

.. it looks a real strange place to leak from though doesn't it ..

is the red not in front of where the vac advance pipe is? is there anything going on with it ..

Hilly

Is it a USA spec bus?

IIRC those came with more complicated US-spec emissions controls, perhaps that is the remains of such a system?

what ever that is ^^^^ ,do i need it :?:

if it runs o.k with out it and doesn,t stall when you come off the revs i wouldn,t worry to much

No it was used to correct for high altitude running, unlikely to be driving atop mnt Snowdon.....

re the leak, remove the carb and clean, get some liquid flux on the plug a blow torch and solder, a small amount of solder and heat is all thats required to flow into the leak and allow to cool then clean up and you'll be fine....
