If anyone on here was driving a blue earlybay around the Bath/Bradford on Avon area a week ago and wondered why some idiot was flashing there lights at them in a green T5, well it was me and i didnt get a flash back  prob because i was in the T5 my daily, is there a real hate for watercooled ? discuss. ;)

If I'm in the bus and I'm flashed by any vehicle, I always acknowledge - they obviously appreciate what you're driving, they may even have a bus at home in the garage!! However,yes...I'll only flash in the first instance at other air cooled.

I have a golf I drive evenings and weekends, a work transit van, but normally end up driving it to work then driving one of a few lorries or the 5 tonne bucket van. If i do see something i like after I've accidently washed the screen, put the wipers on, re set the cruse control etc it a mile in the other direction

I have a new daily every 6 months, I do my best to wave to any vehicle the same as I'm in for a laugh.

On a serious note i flash, wave or nod at any vehicle I appreciate, whatever I'm driving.

I'll flash/wave at any aircooled dub, and any private T4/5...unless flashed/waved at first :)

Also any other classic...I personally like annoying MG owners, who never respond, unless you count them push there noses higher into the air and pretending to look away

I flash at any air-cooled and T25s. Also flash at T4s and 5s if they flash me first. Have felt a bit of a fool in the past flashing at some fella driving his T4 builders van

Likewise, although I flash unsolicited at most Lates and T25s too, especially when my flasher unit is working. :)

lol - get you with the MG drivers - other classics are able to wave back, they are probably too worried about stone chips on their baby ***** coloured paintwork :D (sorry - bit strong - I was a triumph nut so have always felt beneath contempt, particularly when I was having work done on my GT6 at an MG garage, the looks I got for having a Mk3 bonnet on a Mk2!!!)

Though in seriousness and on the origanol question - I flash T25's (who always look surprised!), T3's, Bugs e.t.c. - have stopped flashing T5's as most in Cambridge are Taxi's and think I'm getting a reputation as a nutter :) - unless they are blatantly california's - also flash nice golfs & polo's (old and new) and even an old scirroco last week e.t.c.

On way home on my bike last night I made a point of pulling alongside a nice slammed, ratty golf pickup and giving him the thumbs up, we are all enthusiasts who appreciate the approval of others and like to recepricate

Have always wondered about this topic!

I drive a new shape T5 daily or a Caddy, my misses drives a Tiguan but have a 68 panel van for fun stuff.

Toot, flash and wave at all air-cooled whatever vechile I'm in and most of the time get a response.

But we also play a toot and wave game at pedestrians, you should try it.

Just toot and wave at random pedestrians and see who waves weather they know you or not, quite funny especially driving round London.

I flash to T25's and earlier but anybody who flashes me will always get a response. It's the people who take pictures as they drive past us. If I have time and I am in the passengers seat then I'm afraid I have been known to Moon    I know I know it's very childish but I can't help myself. I'm having counselling for it now.............that and my addiction to anything containing solvents :msn4: :msn4:

One day I'll grow up. Hopefully that's a long way off

This very topic caused some friction amongst the members of the Kombi Club in Australia last week. It has always been an issue. This is the pic that started all the fuss. By the way it wasn't my post and this is the thread if anyone is interested. http://forums.kombiclub.com/showthread.php?t=38777&highlight=dakdak" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We do this and also at other cars when not in van. However word of caution husband was busy waving madly at someone we passed on m25 and didn't take into account we were not far from the tolls, hence having to be parked up next to said car about 8 times before we went through tolls. embarrassing as bloke kept staring at husband trying to work it out, hard to bluff when your about 2 metres from someones window!

When in camper wave at any other campers we see but mostly aircooled ones but not proud, happy to wave at any one
