Hi there, I don't know if anyone can help me but I have a 72 bay and the only locks my key fits are the boot and ignition... I was wondering how I would go about getting the key to fit the other locks??
Many thanks
Greg

:lol: yea mines the same, i used to have a thread bookmarked how to strip the cylinder and rearrange the insides to suit your key but i cant bloody find it now :roll:
there is a place who will rebuild your locks for one key but i cant find them either !!

8)

And here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=312340" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Custom and Commercial can rebuild barrels to match your key at £30 each when I asked a month or so ago. Alternatively find your key number on the locks (assuming genuine vw) and just send off for keys. Various places will just cut them from the code e.g. Keys Galore. This will mean you need different keys for the various locks if they've been replaced though.

Its so easy to rebuild you lock barrels to suit one key, all you have to do is get the barrel out and pull the gold leaves out and switch them around until they sit flush with the key in the barrel.
Get stuck in and have a go!

Can you rebuild a lock that you don't have the key for? I followed the tutorial on the samba a while ago but could not get the barrel from the lock.
