Hi,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my interior back to the original spec. However I'm not sure how the rear roof lining section is suppose to look.

I have what I believe to be a non original overhead storage cupboard. This is now falling apart and I need to fill in the gap again. The head lining has been butchered in the past to fit it but I can seen any photos of how it is suppose to be. I'm not assure as its a 68 if they were different to later models or not.

Can anyone help please?

Cheers

Rob

The roof storage cupboard... The roof lining has been cut away for it

I think I can help - working away at the moment but back Thurs night so will get some photos to you then.

I think 68 to 72 they were the same. I have some spare original Dormy interior bits in the garage that came out of a 70. I definitely have the "half moon" facing panel and possibly more in pretty good condition. Your not a million miles from me either!

Edit - liking your original Dormy interior light! - intact lense covers very hard to come by

Edit No 2 - Two tables as well - thats just greedy!!

Thanks Andy,

That would be brilliant if you could and especially if you have the missing parts needed. :D

No, not being greedy with the two tables. Now owner of two complete Dormy interiors. Bought a well used complete interior from a 71 just to get a full set of newly re upholstered seats including the buddy seats. Luckily plenty of the door and cupboard trim is much better than mine. Will be selling the spare interior when finished.

These are the new seats with the spare interior.....

Thats because they were flimsy and mounted in the most stupid place possible

Too right. I've lost count of how many times I've hit my head on it!

This is how they look when original.

Hope it helps :)

Thanks for that. It certainly shows how much of my headlining has been butchered in the past. Looks like new headlining from somewhere next

Rob

It seems to be regular hardboard with a white textured "fablon"(?) stick on covering.

Pics of the bit I have as promised:

Its not in brilliant condition but I reckon its easily good enough to re-use the hardwood batons and use as a template for new hardboard.

I also have one of the long thin bits of white faced hardboard with cut outs for interior lights at each end.

If you want it, its yours (pick up preferred or could bring to Van/Busfest).

(Also have a quite a few other dormy bits kicking around, if you need anything else).

Rob - I was wrong about the curtain tie back being the same as the sink lid strap, sorry. The poppers are different.

In the first 2 pics the sink strap is on the right. 3rd pic shows the type of popper needed (like a smaller version of the front curtain popper.

sure that's a danbury overhead locker, mostly intact, is it faced with a beigey white melamine? The open space on the left is for hanging rails although some bits of trim and the vinyl cover are missing as you can sort of work out.
