Could anyone tell me what material the kick panels are made from and how thick are they?
I'm guessing 4mm ply but just wanted to make sure
Thank you :D

The kick panels in my Westy are a type of fibre or hardboard , VW Heritage do some very similar for about £30 if I remember correctly.I hope this helps

Are you making your own or looking to buy them?

Instead of the stock black, I was maybe thinking of using the door card material and continuing it on down to the kick panels.

This guy is using 3.6 exterior ply or 3mm hardboard:

I've been using my old door cards as templates and cutting my own using 4mm ply. I cut some kick panels using hardboard but wasn't happy with it so have purchased ply this afternoon to re cut them.
I was thinking of using the same material as on the doors but I'm gonna be using a cream vinyal and was wondering if they may show the durt ?

I've been agonising as to which colour to use on my walls and door cards
I just can't come to a conclusion ?
I have been thinking cream same colour as my seats ( my headliner is white ) to keep the back of my panel van light but don't wanna over do the cream

Any other opinions ? You advice would be much appreciated
Ill post some pics

Seats look awesome mate. Love that colour.

I don't think you will over do the cream but some contrast is often nice. Keep in mind cream door cards and especially cream kick panels will get filthy. Play around with this for a while. Great tool to help choose colours. http://colorschemedesigner.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for that chap ill play around with tha this evening :)

The seats are fluted and What u can't see in the pics is they have white piping
I was thinking about fluting the door cards to create contrast and texture and also the lower half of the walls ?
What u think ?

I'm agonizing over a colour scheme also, but here are a few borrowed pictures from this forum I've kept for inspiration.

I think in your case, doing the doors a few shades darker than your cream (beige) will help (as in the example above).

This is obviously a very subjective subject...

I actually really like the natural wood look for your bus!

How about having cream, maybe slightly darker with a type of racing stripe in blue running through them?

What an awesome bus!!!

Love it!

Thanks 70-ca-panel kind comments
I like your thoughts, maybe a slightly darker cream would give a bit of contrast from the seats?
It's hard making a decision?

Looking at your user name I assume u have a panel?
What have u done inside yours ?
U got any pics to share ? :)

Heya,

Yes got a panel, just got back from bodyshop, so it's still all empty inside.
I need to sort the engine and brakes out first, then I'll start thinking about the interior.
I think I'm going with light wood inside like you, I quite like it. My slider has a louvre window, so it's a bit lighter inside.
It had previously had styrofoam insulation and dark woodchip boards inside, that was a bit dark.
I don't think I'll have material like doorcards inside the whole bus.
I got to get my photobucket sorted again too...

Good luck with your decisions, I like how it is now... :D

Wish my bus looked as tidy as yours, maybe one day...
