Good morning,

I’m in the process of reversing how the previous owners ‘restored’ my 1968 early bay.

Having bought what seems a never ending list of replacement panels for Alan Schofields, I cut the centre belly pan off to reveal even more work, both the front and rear cross members need replacing!

This also revealed that the heater channel is covered by, what looks like an original fibre covering.

Can anyone tell me what material is made of as I’d like to know if it contains any dangerous materials before I start taking it apart.

Appreciate any advice you can give me.

Kind regards,

Tony

it looks the same as the type 3 heat exchanger covers, it is coarse fibreglass mat with a vinyl cover.

A guy on late bay had some stuff tested and came back as asbestos, not the really bad stuff , will try to find the link
