I'll try and make this otherwise long story short.
Got chatting to an old boy at vanfest, old boy had old bay pick up he was
thinking of scrapping (ears prick up),told him not to scrap especially as it was tax exempt.Said i'd go and have a look as i was in area on hols.
Met up with old boy,was greeted by a sorry looking early bay pickup with
huge wooden dropsides!Old boy has owned Pierre (the mrs named him)!
for 25yrs and used the pick up to transport his sheep to market, apparently used to get twenty on the back  Anyway its for sale only wants £300.to much work for me.cab, front panel, chassis & beam look fine but will need inner & outer sills, outriggers, arches &
corners. It runs & drives, mot ran out apr 07 tax in window till end nov.Is any body interested? Not for the faint hearted.R.H.D.Spoke to the owner yesterday to count myself out and ask if i could forward his no if i knew anyone was interested.

:) Glad someone wants to save him.Couple of things i forgot to say,
the van is situated in Cleobury Mortimer (nr Ludlow) and the locker door is now made of plywood!
Let me know if you are both still interested and i'll pm you both.
Angus-you didn't get the swedish pickup then?Am loving the idea of a early bay caterham transporter :D Whats YHM mean? am new to this pc
malarky!

YHM - you have mail :)

Good luck with it, it looks like a great project for someone :)

Hi Richard - nope, budget didn't stretch (well, no budget) which is why this one appeals. So yes, certainly interested in getting it.
I can cope with a plywood locker door!
Can you email me, PM me or ring me (or send me your number) and we can discuss - I know it isn't you selling it, but obviously you have the details etc....
Cheers
angus

Would love to save it also.

Been after a single cab for a while also and is ideal for my next project.

Could you also PM furthe details.

Thanks

Scampi

Good luck to who ever takes this on - will look like a thing of beauty when finished 8)

who will be the winner???????

Oh I wish I was on line earlier - I told my wife about this and she said "Why don't you buy it?"

I hope one of you guys can clinch the deal - that would make such a sweet ride (and I'm sure you'd get used to the smell of sheep poo!) - slam it, fix the chassis, you're good to go! 8)

Keep us posted (and can I have 3rd dibs please?)...

;)

Hi Scampi - I'm going to ring the chap and maybe arrange to go and have a look at the van at the weekedn - where are you located?
Haven't shown Tessa yet....
