Does anyone know when the springplates started to be notched where the brake line goes through it?

On my 69 there was a hole but I had to remove the brakeline to get the plate off. I have seen some (including creative adjustables that are notched so you can just slip it over the break line.

I assume it is August 71 on......but would like to know exactly for the next time I offer to help someone lower thier bus :)

Cheers all

I didn't know the brake pipe went through the spring plate. It goes through the hub carrier and a support bracket on the A-arm. Could you post a picture of what you are referring to?

I think this is what he means? SRs Bus with horseshoes on.

Hi

I haven't got a picture to hand but I mean the hard brake line not the handbrake cable.

Basically, when I changed the springplates on my 69 for the creative adjustable ones I had to take the brake line out as it passed through a hole in the spring plate. On the creative one it had a cut out so this would slip out without removing the hard brake line.

I just want to know what year these cut out sections were introduced as I will be changing the springplates on my 71 at some point and want to know if I need to do it before I sort the brakes. (I don't want to have to bleed them twice.)

Cheers

Jon
