hello
we are looking for a early tintop microbus etc we would really prefer a van which is running and ready to drive ,our budget is £5000
many thanks redbird

Have you thought about importing one yourself? I only ask because once somebody has gone to the trouble of importing, and maybe getting it MOT'd and running, they're unlikely to let it go for £5k.

Anything CAN be done, but when it costs roughly £1500 to import a bus, plus duty, then you're either going to be looking at a good shell with no engine, or a runner which needs a lot of work done. Look at the for sales, there are usually a few without engine or gear box up for around £5k.

for 5 k im sure its going to be tricky, we got one over that needed nothing really, just a little tickle and with new seals running at £500 ish it cost us £6500 min and he still needs painting. most imports need seals , brakes sorting and at least pop top canvas. you can loose a grand in a phone call for nothing when it turns up !! hope you do tho :D

Mines going up for sale some time in the next fourtnight if your interested?

Californian import, microbus, brake overhall, New window seals, New CV and ball joint boots, rebuilt shifter, new tyres, full camping interior, UK compliant lights, nice running 1.6 that's been setup professionally with a gas analyser etc and a fresh mot.

Will be looking at the £8350 mark though which is over budget but requires nothing bar a headliner.

As for importing yourself bank on the cost of the van plus 1500ish shipping, 500ish decontainering fees this end, transport cost from docks and UK import duty at upto 20% of the combined purchase and shipping costs. Don't forget ground transport in the states too.

Time scale is roughly 5-10 days on the docks either side plus 4-6 weeks on the water depending on your departure port.

thanks for you replies,i guess i might have to up my budget, but £6000 is my limit for a running mot `d early bay pref dry import
thank you
