That's how I've got mine installed, on a piece of aluminum mounted to the LH side tray.
Fuel pump mounted on the same panel, with a very short piece of flexible between it and the filter.

I would consider running a Filter King, (as pictured above)
its not only a pressure reg but also filters at the same time:

Definitely going down the filterking route as the current versions have a glass bowl so you can see the condition of the filter / debris in the bowl. I have seen one where you can attach a fuel pressure regulator as well, which will be handy to set it up properly.
Is that a facet fuel pump you are using? Is it loud when inside the van?

Filter kings have a built in pressure regulator and therefore don't need another.

can't hear the Posi-Flow when in the van, I've got it mounted on some rubber bobbins too though.
Bought my pump from JCC but Heritage sell the same one, my filter king is about 15 years old hence the differences.
I made up a separate piece of fuel tube with a pressure gauge on a tee, I can fit it, set the pressure then take it out. I personally don't like NPT fittings, they have a tendency to leak and therefore having as few of these as possible was my goal ; hence filter king without gauge port.
