I know there are a few experts on this subject on here about electrics so heres a quick question for you all.

I want to replace and tidy the wiring in the back my bus, it is a mess and looks dangerous I want to rewire it from the firewall backwards as its fine the other side ( a thorough inspection has been done) and I want to know what is the best way of cutting and splicing onto it, ie what connections are the sturdiest and safest to use and where do I do it from.

I don't want to have to rewire from front to back if I can help it as i'm off to Europe in it next month !

Hope you guys can help

Did the same to our '68. I used the standard colour wires as per the original loom so the future fault finding would be straight forward. You can get the necessary cable (thinwall) in all the right colours in cut lengths from here http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/

Run the new loom in PVC sleeving and it will look like the original. To join the wires heres my method

Just twist the wires over each other so they look like this

Trim off the excess

Solder up

Finally put heatshrink sleeving over the join and it looks like this
