OK guys,
tommorow, The engine and gearbox is coming off Doris,as part of the preperation for the chassis being sand blasted, prior to resto.I've taken plenty of engines out of beetles, but never a bus,OR a engine & gearbox at the same time. It seems straight forward according to the Haynes manual,so first of all....

any tips on safe removal of box and lump as one unit??

Also, I was just wondering if there is anything I should pay attention to while the gearbox is out of the way?

bushes, cables,I also plan to remove the fuel tank fire wall for repainting but...does having the box out give me access to anything I wouldn't normally be able to do?

Cheers - Rob

great so far guys, keep em coming!
I have the shift coupling ready to go in. how many/much are the gearbox mounts? mine are not giving me any trouble but if its cheap enough, might do them.

Rear brake flexy, hoses flush fuel tank, and check fuel guage sender and rubber hose to filler neck.
