Just done a 1500 mile trip from Spain to UK last few days the engine losses power when under load ie going up a hill or accelerating from around 40-50
It's a 1776 with twin 40 dels it's ok with gentil throttle up to about 50 but when I put my foot down it just looses power and slows to about 30. Any ideas feels like fuel starvation but it reeves up fine to 5500 rpm when in neutral with no discernible drop in power.
Any ideas please? :D

Only a single carb setup and slightly different symptoms. Loss of power uphill but with a jerk at low revs as power diminished. Dismantled/cleaned carb and very sprightly on takeoff and on the flat after but hit the hill again same old jerks and loss of power. Started to look at my electronic ignition and bought new coil and module. Fitted coil and went for a run... No more jerks and maintained better revs as I climbed the hill. So check coil as I have read that when hot and on its way out it can fail at lower revs. Mine worked only if I kept the revs high and dropped gears.
