Hi doods got a few probs with the bus , When i start it from cold it runs quite lumpy , then when i drive it . I get to the end of the road , dip the clutch the revs drop like a stone and the bus stalls it does this at every junction , roundabout etc and is a pain in the rs . Also when I put my foot on the gas there is a flat spot and a pause before power comes . Sorry for all the questions  Thanks

Was the carb a Brosol one? They ain't too hot :( Rebuilt originals are far better, will give better MPG too.

I suspect it is carb icing too. Stock air filter? All pipes etc connected up>?

Do you have a photo of the engine as it is now?

:)

how long does it last after starting ? plus you may find the rubber boots on the inlet manifold may have a leak if its a dp motor.

Mine does this a lot, I either have to left foot brake and keep my foot on the accelerator while i slow down(fun in london traffic!) or I run it for 5 mins and then switch off and leave it for another 5, the heat from the engine rises and warms the manifold (at least I think it does) and then its fine and off I go !! 8)

i have to perform the exact same procedure only seems to give trouble in the winter months.

Is the choke coming on?

Also, are the preheat pipes getting hot all the way up to the base of the manifold. Can you hear the sound of the fuel shut off solenoid clicking when the ignition is switched on.

same here, exept i didn't know what the problem was, i just knew turning it off, then on again worked

i think i had a problem with the preheater pipe so i guess it is carb icing? as i did notice a sheen if ice on the manifold pipes. Still doesnt explain why idling is ok but when im changing down at junctions im guaranteed to stall same as Grazy :? . we must have the same problem?.
