Feeling a bit despondent towards my bus...

I actually got rid of my daily driver recently because the van is so much cheaper to run! No tax, classic insurance....

I hadnt used it for 4 days and it started up right on the button, even after all the ice recently. Cant complain...

I'll be cringing when driving with salt on the roads though...

It's worth the poor heat and misting windows at this time of year.

Chin up and Merry Christmas to all!
Jim

PS. 8 weeks 'till dubFreeze and the new show season.

Seriously its such a waste of emergency services time am money dealing with them!
Then its off with a skip and a jump to any claim dog who loves a bit of insurance shafting no win no fee or even better, the otherside (insurance co) picks up the costs and passes it on the all of us  D

I agree, we recently had a woman reverse into us in the Vectra, not my fault & just front bumper and grille damage but it was low speed and we were ok.3 times I was asked if we wanted to claim for injuries by the insurance company!! Not even a blame-claim out fit.
I'm a really honest guy so I didn't make a claim for whiplash, cos we didn't have it....but.....I get the distinct impression it is the 'done' thing to claim for it regardless of the truth.
Like you said, cost is passed on to everyone :-(

I know it is only supposed to get better but the fact is that over the last 3 years every company I've been insured with have tried to shaft me at renewal.
That's standard practice to catch out people who are rich enough not to bother looking at the price. Always change insurer every year, but def don't pay the renewal. Everyone from the AA to Gas to...well everyone plays this game nowadays and it makes life a pain in the arse doesn't it?

Hi G - sorry to hear about your predicament....... :(

Have you told the insurance company that it doesn't move and is a 'work in progress' as some will reduce the premium if that is the case?

If you need any help give me a nudge (perhaps borrow my MIG as I won't be using it for the next couple of months)??

Chin up dude :D

Them: "...and you're over 30?"
Me: "No, I am 24"
Them: "We are not going to be able to help you, sorry"

Cheers for the effort though. At least they gave me a quick and easy no :p

Oh god, whiplash claims

My ex was rung out of the blue 3 years after she had a car accident that had already been settled and was told she was entitled to further compensation for whiplash. All she had to do was give them the go ahead and they'd sort it out on her behalf and send a fat cheque her way if they won. I told her not to go through with it (was adamant, big argument ensued) but she did anyway. 4 months later a cheque for £3,500 arrived. Ridiculous.

I was a passenger in a friends car once and we got rear-ended. Not badly either, barely a touch. The first thing he did when he got out of the car was start rubbing the back of his neck. Seriously?! Zero damage to either vehicle, probably only 5mph accident. He also complains that his insurance premiums are too high. Hypocrite.

Thats a bit wierd, ive used them since i was 25, sorry they didn't help you.
My friends girlfriend was in a car that had a tiny accident in car park, and she claimed for whiplash as well, even though she said there was nothing wrong with her. I told her what I thought about that! we dont talk anymore.

I went with Footman James, been good value: unlimited mileage, EU breakdown, agreed value and the bus is lowered, alloys, custom interior with no issues.

I have been driving for nearly 20 years and the cost has been pretty much the same every year, my first car was a mini 850 with a 1275 engine, alloys, bucket seats and straight through exhaust and was £275 with any mod apart from a roll-cage, roll on 20 years and the bus is about the same price...

It is always hard finding cash when you are young(er), I think your desire for spending exceeds your earning capacity until you reach about 30...

Hey George mate,,,, You got my number don`t you ???????? If you come up with a cunning plan and just want to talk it through with someone,,, just give me a ring. Even if it`s someone in Bristol mate,

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I can remember insuring an Oxford for more than my uncle and his 3.8s Jag

I'm only 24 an I pay 240 I think. thats with Cherished with all mods listed an agreed amount limited miles an so on
