Possibly too simple a question - but does anyone know if the sponge foam packer behind the cab door, internal, pull handle is fitted with the hole in the foam around the handle fitting or with the hole behind the black, plastic, handle cover, recess? Also does anyone have the dimensions for the foam blocks as I do not have one to use as a template and I am too tight to pay £15 to have two small bits of foam sponge posted out to me by a VW parts retailer.

have a look at this link on the samba.

any closed cell foam will be ok as it doesn't soak up water.

Thanks for the posted replies to my question. I wish I had seen the 'samba' link before I had finished rebuilding my cab doors - it would have made life easier.
