have you got a folding table in your van attached to the far interior wall?

if so how's it attached? what does it attach to (i assume there is some frame behind the panel as standard fittings don't like they are in the right position for a camping table)

any pics of your table and or how it's attached would be great

thanks :)

devons had a male/female (if i can call it that) metal strip attached to the panel and on the table. Behind the panel they had screwed a 'T-shaped' flat, 2 inch wide sheet piece and screwed the strip into it. This sheet piece bridged between the strengtheners to give something to screw the strip into.

thanks guys

jonny, I'm nearly, but not quite following you about how it's attached. but the big picture is that the table can be attached or removed, it doesn't fold down, right?

and many thanks for posting the westy manual mr (i assume) clarkson

between the two posts i have learnt that fixings for the table involve hiding something behind the wall panel for it to fit into

quick on the uptake aren't i?!

its not folding, it inserts into the strip and the table can be removed and extra legs attached to use it outside.

this is the T bar i mentioned...

I think it would be pretty easy to adapt any table to a fixed hinge to swing down and stow against the panel?.

cheers jonny, thanks for the pic, realy useful

i am planning on adapting the table we had made for the van (which sits on a pole dropped into the floor and is cr@p) just as you describe, so it folds up against the panel. slight problem is clearance for the r&r bed, so the devon removable set up has a certain appeal

Have a look at this thread if you want to see the removable table in my van fairly straight forward to do.
