Was considering the canvas front bunk bed that goes over the 2 cab seats. My LHD '71 Bay has these brackets but I don't have the canvas:

If they are no longer available, would someone be able to post the measurements and perhaps a couple of photos? They can't be that hard to make. I guess the connectors to the brackets will be the 'hen's teeth' item.

I was thinking more about using this as a storage shelf rather than actually sleeping on it - I've made a ply shelf that fits over the passenger seat but the front area seems a bit under-utilised once parked up for the weekend.
 
The bunks are still available from NLA VW, Coolair and a few other places and they will fit that style of bracket. I've just done this myself.
I think I paid £50 through Coolair but it's actually the NLA VW bunk that gets delivered anyway. I'm well pleased with it. My daughter sleeps on there and it still leaves plenty of access for storage underneath.

I use mine regular for my daughter or just storage. I can measure everything up for you if needed but prob easier to buy.
