Front grill and steering wheel suggestions for my early bay?

My second post!!!, yippee!

My '71 Danbury is currently undergoing a full resto and i need a few items, some before paint, some after!!!!

It's getting sprayed soon so front grill would be more important, any leads??????????

As for steering wheels, i know new ones are available at £100+!!, i was just wondering if there are any nice second hand ones around or i'm open to alternative steering wheels (such as billet/wood style).

I understand the spline size on the steering wheel is small, not like the late bay (larger spline), nor, keyed like the splitties'.

Any help on this would be fab,

Whatever wheel your looking for in new condition will cost you around £100 or more, the JK ones are good repros at the price, if you go for a billet or woodrim + boss can add up to alot more.

If your looking for a cheap one my advice is to ring a VW specialist breakers like FBI volks heaven or keep your eye out for a bargain on fleabay

There a VW breakers up here in the Midlands, he has a lot of used stock and some new stuff and also carry's out restoration work so if he hasn't got it he could probably get it or put you in touch with someone

Hey Spencer, i bought a woodrim 15 inch steering wheel with polished metal inner spokes complete with polished metal boss from midland wheels at stanford hall for £99. its about an inch or so smaller than my og wheel but still works fine and looks the nuts.... best deal i could find. if you order on line they are about £120. good luck with it, Matt. :mrgreen:
