Hi folks.I have ran out of petrol twice now...once with the needle on quarter of a tank and once with the needle just the wrong side of half a tank.Is it my guage,or is it the float..i havent a clue! Please help..
Thanks all.
Simon. :)

sorry to take advantage of this post  but I have the same problem on my '73 bus , I'm always runing below the empty line, when I fill up it stays there for about 25 miles then it drops very fast to middle and then all the way to the bottom , when I go to refill it's almost full. I suspect the floater but hoping it's something easier to fix.

this is interesting, my gauge always registers 3 quarters full when full and as a result it's hard to tell when empty. again, apologies to the original poster. Hopefully someone will come back to us on this.

This is most likely a sender problem and its not an easy fix unfortunately unless the engines already out....
