Hi, I am having the engine out this week and whilst I am at it, there is a smell of fuel in the cabin when I fill up - is this something that needs to be replaced whilst the engine is out? I seem to remember there is a rubber somewhere that perishes?

cheers

I used to get a strong smell of fuel when I filled up this was cured by replacing the original fuel filler inlet pipe (the large type). Mine had very slight cracks in it when I checked upon removal of the pipe. It's also beneficial to change all of the breather pipes from the fuel tank when you have the engine removed.

Hope this helps.
