gear shifter

is there a difference between a RHD and LHR gear shifter / stick ? the gears are in the same position etc, could someone please confirn either way ?

I took my empi shifter out of my RHD and put it in my LHD on problems. The only one that could be a problem are the ones with the T handle as they are angled to the driver.
